 Protect & Preserve our
Alexandria Campus

Goal: $2.5 million

The Alexandria campus is important to us as it is where the day-to-day magic of Burgundy happens. Nature, the iconic historic red buildings, and the impressive new facilities combine to powerfully augment our daughters’ learning.”

BETSY & NELSON ERICKSON P’25’27

Burgundy’s Alexandria campus, unique among schools in our area, is an oasis and a treasure. Each generation has invested for the future, including the recent additions of the Logan Loft and Van Deusen Campus Commons, which have been transformative in so many ways. We too have a generational responsibility to protect our keystone pastoral campus and nature-focused program and to secure future opportunities to enhance and even grow our mission, in support of our long-term financial sustainability.

The Burgundy Preservation Fund will allow Burgundy to protect and preserve our Alexandria Campus by providing the resources to act on time-sensitive land purchases of properties surrounding our campus. Burgundy has utilized a similar approach to protect the Cove through the Coopers Cove Conservation Fund. We also can consider mission-aligned land development partnerships to strengthen the School’s financial sustainability while preserving all that we treasure.

Burgundy’s Alexandria Campus and Little Burgundy Farm are part of a rare natural oasis, surrounded by ever-increasing urban density.

In addition to protecting our natural campus, the Burgundy Preservation Fund can support new programming or facilities, including construction of affordable, environmentally sustainable faculty housing to attract and retain new faculty and staff or a Burgundy Center for Progressive Education and Student-Centered Teaching, which could include a teacher residency training center — with housing provided.
